Finding Funding

Getting funding for the N-O-T program

First, decide who are the best potential partners for a local N-O-T program. The easiest way to do this is to approach organizations and agencies that provided funding for other public health programs that were set up in your area. Another way is to find out which public or private organizations already support the American Lung Association’s mission and are interested in issues such as reducing tobacco use,  improving teen health, or improving public health. When you have decided who your potential N-O-T partners are, develop either a proposal for funding or write a grant application clearly explaining why the organization you are addressing should support a local N O T program.

View a suggestion for a letter you could write to a potential funder.
